How my Erasmus in Germany was?

Honestly? I have no words to explain. I was supposed to leave for one semester and ended up staying for a whole year. When I returned, I was completely changed, a new mentality, new perspectives on my future.

The Erasmus experience meant a lot to me, and I will always think of it fondly.
I met people from all over the world, I made international friends, with whom I still talk almost daily, friends with whom I will forever remain in contact. I met new cultures and different traditions. I developed both personally and professionally and discovered myself better, because I evolved and took responsibility, living alone in a foreign country. I visited many places, walked and learned at the same time. I had fun and created memories, which I will always have with me and of which I will be proud.

I recommend an Erasmus mobility with all my heart. It is a once in a lifetime opportunity.❤️

What are you waiting for?

It’s your turn to go with Erasmus and write your own story.

Angelika Bujalska, Erasmus+ incoming student at ASE

Erasmus is a once-in-a-lifetime adventure.
Unless you go on it a second time.
My first Erasmus was in Athens, Greece. The whole experience was so interesting that I wanted to repeat it again and that is why I am on an exchange at ASE. The whole uniqueness of the trip is because nothing is predictable. When going abroad completely on your own, you don’t know if the amount of information you have gained from the internet is enough. However, what really makes this event unforgettable are the people. Living in the dormitory, I met a lot of people from different countries. After half a year, you become a family with complete strangers at the beginning and you look sadly at the days passing by.

Erasmus is also an opportunity to get to know a culture and travel anywhere. Every city hides a secret, lots of museums to discover and cheap flights.

After all, every country has a connection to the destination. There are so many possibilities. But as in most cases, it is the people who make the memories. Erasmus, apart from the culture, the people and the travel, is a great option to make your CV more inviting. By speaking a foreign language all the time, you improve your language skills and gain freedom of conversation. It is an unforgettable adventure, lifelong friendships and a time when you really get to know yourself.

I couldn’t have imagine better experiences during my studies than this.

The ERASMUS+ experience was a challenge from day one. Adapting to a completely new environment, communicating with others in a language other than my native one, and being far from my loved ones at home did not stop me from enjoying my time there. I visited many places in Poland and saw how many beautiful things this country has to offer.

I met students from all over the world, with whom I shared cultural curiosities and made friends. As a result of this experience, I developed my English communication skills, adapting to a foreign environment and socializing. And I ate a lot of traditional food of course.

My name is Vlad Petre and last semester I was an ERASMUS student in Poznań, Poland.

Portugal is an extraordinary country, where we adapted very well and where we felt at home from the first days. We had the opportunity to visit some of the most beautiful places we have ever seen. Certainly the year spent in Porto was the one in which we developed the most on all levels. After this study mobility, we decided to also go on a placement mobility in Spain, for two months. The experience was well worth it, and now we can’t imagine what life would be like without Erasmus+.

Without a doubt, the Erasmus+ program was the experience of my life. And I don’t use big words! Living alone in a foreign country, surrounded by other internationals of different cultures from all around the globe, and adapting to a new education system changed me. In a good way. I can say that I see things differently now, from a more mature perspective.

Perhaps one of the most beautiful post-Erasmus aspects is friendship. The friendship with the foreign students is still alive, although we are separated by thousands of kilometers. However, what binds us are unique memories, and we now make plans to visit each other. An aspect that I did not anticipate is that you are living your “Erasmus” even after the official end of the mobility. And I hope this experience lasts forever!

With gratitude and nostalgia, my thoughts turn to the many Erasmus mobilities I had throughout Europe (in Hungary, Croatia, France, Spain and Portugal) that paved my way to descovering and exploring new cultures.

Among the greatest achievements, I would like to highlight the passion for studying in foreign languages in the academic environment, the possibility to improve my career prospects, and the aspiration to discover new things and make new friends (networking).

This semester I was part of a Blended Intensive Erasmus+ program, which included physical presence for a week in Arnhem, the Netherlands. Although it seems like it took a while, the activities we did inspired us for a long time to come. “Van Hall Larenstein” University welcomed us with open arms!

In addition to the practical lessons we had, this experience helped us make friends with students from all over the world – Germany, Estonia, Netherlands, Mexico and India. Together we created business models for an enterprise that aims to encourage people to consume locally grown plants and even grow them themselves, thus promoting a healthy lifestyle. It was a special experience, which I would like to repeat again!

In the first semester of the 3rd year I was on a study mobility at the University of Málaga in Spain! During the six months of mobility, I was able to combine the courses within the faculty with the exploration of Spanish culture: music, dance, gastronomy. All this by traveling!

What’s cool about Erasmus is that you learn something new every step of the way!

Spain is incredible (especially Andalusia)! The people are extremely welcoming and warm, and the area is truly impressive: from the sunny beaches, to the cities full of tradition and history, all the places invite you to come back to really discover them!

I was very happy to have the chance to deepen my Spanish language level, to interact with students from all over the world and to explore the university environment from another country! The question is not whether to go with Erasmus, but where and when (although, regarding the last part, the answer is simple: NOW!
