For the fourth year in a row, our University ranks the first position in Romania in Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2023, which has just been published!
The Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2023 include 1,799 universities across 104 countries and regions, making them the largest and most diverse university rankings to date. The table is based on 13 carefully calibrated performance indicators that measure an institution’s performance across four areas: teaching, research, knowledge transfers and international outlook. This year’s ranking analysed over 121 million citations across more than 15.5 million research publications and included survey responses from 40,000 scholars globally. Overall, it collected over 680,000 data points from more than 2,500 institutions that submitted data. Times Higher Education is one of the most prestigious international rankings, alongside the Shanghai and QS rankings.
Our University is ranked 1st in Romania, among the 20 universities evaluated, and for the second time in a row, it is ranked 501-600 worldwide, being the only Romanian university ranked in the top 600 in the world. Bucharest University of Economic Studies is also ranked 48th worldwide in citations.
This edition of the ranking was launched in New York on 12 October this year, during the Times Higher Education World University Rankings Summit, held in partnership with New York University. Our University is represented at this high-level Summit by Professor Constantin Marius Profiroiu, Vice-Rector for International Relations.
We would like to congratulate the entire academic community of the Bucharest University of Economic Studies for these outstanding results which were achieved through the remarkable efforts of all members in our exceptional community!
